In April 2025, Willand Engineering completed the precision fabrication of a stainless steel sugar trough system for a new client in the confectionery industry—a move that highlights our growth into new manufacturing sectors while staying true to the high-quality engineering we’re known for.
This isn’t just a tank—it’s a fully integrated, custom-built solution, designed to meet strict hygienic standards and demanding process requirements for temperature-sensitive food production.
Project Overview: Function Meets Finish
Our client needed a robust, temperature-controlled sugar trough with full product handling functionality. The Willand team delivered a complete solution, featuring:
Sloped trough body for effective drainage and cleaning
External hot water jacket, maintaining product consistency and flow
Pump and stainless steel pipework for seamless transfer of product
Dual inlet tray for flexible product deposition
IBC cradles mounted to load cells, enabling precise measurement and control
Bead-blast and satin finish throughout, showcasing our in-house polishing standards
The trough was independently pressure-tested and certified to 5 barg, guaranteeing its reliability under production conditions.
In-House Quality, End to End
From the first cut to the final finish, this system was entirely fabricated, welded, and polished in-house by our skilled tradespeople. The finish speaks for itself—sleek, sanitary, and built to last.
The bolts shown on the cradle assembly are temporary fixtures; custom-machined components are being supplied by the main contractor to complete final installation.
