Project Overview
We were commissioned to design, fabricate, and install a bespoke 3″ flow plate for the CIP return lines serving Channels 1 and 2 at a large UK brewing facility. The primary objective was to improve flow efficiency by replacing multiple swing bends with a single swing bend in a clock rotation layout. This solution was tailored to minimise maintenance issues and optimise the cleaning process.
Scope of Work
Design & CAD Drawings: Our experienced engineering team developed precise CAD drawings for the new flow plate configuration. The design was created in two sections to accommodate the complex pipe routing and numerous crossovers on site. All drawings were submitted for client approval prior to fabrication.
Fabrication: The flow plate was fabricated in-house at our West Yorkshire workshop, using high-grade stainless steel to meet strict hygiene standards essential in the brewing industry.
Delivery & Site Planning: Coordinated delivery and comprehensive site planning ensured smooth integration of the new sections with existing pipework. We worked closely with the client’s site team to map out pipe routes and minimise downtime.
Installation: Installation was carried out efficiently during a scheduled production shutdown. Despite the complexity of the pipework and tight timeframe, our team completed the project ahead of schedule, allowing the client to commence commissioning and CIP cleaning without delay.

Strict Shutdown Deadline: Completing all fabrication and installation tasks before the agreed shutdown end time was critical to avoid costly production delays.
